Completed Application and Fee

One of the first things that you will need when applying to the School of Continuing Studies (SCS) is a completed application form.  This form can be found and submitted electronically on the school’s website.  Along with the application form a fee of $35 will also be required.

Letters of Recommendation

Two letters of recommendation are also required.  These can be written by a present or past employer or someone who is able to adequately evaluate your readiness to take on the responsibility of an undergraduate student at this time.  If you so desire, you could use the Online Application Manager on the school’s website to send the persons recommending you an online recommendation via email.

Essay

A short type written and double spaced essay taking up no more than 3 pages is also a requirement in the application process.  Your essay can either be about your reason for wanting to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies or it can describe what you have been doing since your last enrolment as a full time student.

Official transcript

All applicants are required to submit an official transcript form every high school or college that they attended before applying to the institution.  Your transcript can either be submitted vial mail or electronically.  If you receive the transcript from your former institution to deliver it to the SCS you must ensure that it is sealed in order for it to be accepted as being official.  Those students who obtained their GED will need to present an official certification to the Admissions office.

English Proficiency Test

If your first language is not English, you will be required to complete a TOEFL exam in order to be accepted.  This is necessary as most of the courses for this degree involve a lot of reading writing.
